French Baroque Performance: 'Qu'est-ce que c'est continuo?'

From the size and composition of the continuo group to the realization of the figured bass, Baroque music performers enjoy considerable flexibility when it comes to musical decisions. Alumni from Juilliard's historical performance program give their take on two movements from the 8th concert of François Couperin's Les goûts-réunis, ou Nouveaux Concerts and, with faculty member Phoebe Carrai, translate the specialized vernacular into layman's terms.
