Exploring 'Le Nozze di Figaro' - Developing a Character

With her boyish admirer hiding in the closet and her husband pounding on the door to their bedroom, the Countess is in a bind, but lucks out when her maid Susanna comes to the rescue. This is one of the many comedic situations in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Stephen Wadsworth's job as Juilliard's Director of Opera Studies is to work with the singers as they develop their characters to make these scenes convincing.
